Stacie Wind, MHA, has served as the founding Director of the Rappahannock Area Health Education Center (AHEC) at Rappahannock Community College (RCC) since 2020. Ms. Wind has extensive experience in project management, community engagement, health education and outreach, workforce recruitment and retention, contracting, and performance improvement. As the AHEC Director, Ms. Wind focuses on community outreach, recruitment, and training of future health professionals and continuing education for practicing professionals. As a native of the Rappahannock region, Ms. Wind has witnessed the health inequities of the region and returned to the area with a passion for providing opportunities and resources for the medically underserved population. Additionally, she is familiar with the workforce shortages and lack of desire for health profession students to remain in a rural community health setting. In response, she has developed community immersion rotations and simulations, training and certifications, and job placement for health profession students. In addition, Ms. Wind is a first-generation student with a Master's in Healthcare Administration that has supported her efforts in developing and implementing health career and workforce retention initiatives.
